“Walk Into the Light” with the Hodge Family

Education & Training

Last week, Gordon attended the Tennessee Professional Photographers Association state convention as one of their featured speakers.   He presented his seminar, “Walk Into The Light”,  a hands-on course specifically for those interested in understanding additive off-camera lighting for outdoor portraiture.  In this session, the model family was a great group of four – the Hodges.  Here are some of the images from that demonstration session.   Gordon made  these portraits using his Hasselblad HD4 40 camera, Hasselblad 35-90 lens, Elinchrome Speed Head, and Phototek umbrella softbox.

A painter we enjoy!

Monday evening, September 16th, the Dare County Arts Council is providing an opportunity for you to come and meet Costa Rican-born painter, Caroline Coto.  While Gordon and I aren’t able to attend, given our studio teaching schedules, we encourage anyone who can to join Caroline at the DCAC’s September Art Talk.  Her work is wonderful, whimsical but with a aura of pathos;  we are fortunate to own three of her prints. Caroline’s own webpage is: DCAC’s webpage is  The September Art Talk, to be held from 6p to 8p at the gallery in Manteo, will also be a pot luck meal. The newsletter says to take a favorite dish or drink to share! Cathy Pescevich Kreplin
